In preparation for family travel this year, it’s important to have some kid friendly ideas in mind no matter where you are going.

The Perot Museum is a great indoor interactive museum to explore with kids. The museum is perfect for adults and kids alike who love dinosaurs, fossils, and learning about science. With four stories of interactive science displays, kids will walk away with a wealth of new knowledge! Our personal favorite is the dinosaur fossil floor.

Klyde Warren Park is a 5-acre urban park built above the highway that features children’s play spaces, lawn games and seasonal activities like yoga, concerts, and movie showings. No matter the day, there is always something fun going on in the park. Food trucks line the park and offer a wide variety of food, making it a fun place to stop for a bite to eat.

The Katy Trail is the place to be on a day when the weather is nice. In the autumn, enjoy the fall foliage as you walk or bike the trail. The Katy Trail runs four miles through the heart of Dallas and is a great way to see different neighborhoods of the city. It’s easy to hop on and off the trail at various mile markers to explore the Uptown area if you want a break for coffee or food.

The Arboretum is another fun outdoor place to explore with kids. The arboretum is located next to White Rock Lake, so you can enjoy views of the lake while wandering the expansive gardens. The best time of the year to visit is during the fall while the arboretum has their pumpkin exhibit out. It’s a must see, and a great place to take fun seasonal photos with your kids!

Dallas Farmers Market

The Dallas Farmers Market is located in the Deep Ellum neighborhood, which has vibrant street murals, lots of up and coming restaurants, and concert venues. The market is open on the weekends and is a great place to shop from regional venders. There is a wide range of farm fresh produce, to arts and crafts vendors in the market.

Of course, if you are in search of a family fun center where you can enjoy all you can play games and enjoy pizza and fun with your children, find your closest Chuck E. Cheese’s location in the Dallas area.
